2026 Performance Team

  • Austin and Sara Seelhof own and operate Seelhof Performance Horses near Cochrane, Alberta. Austin has grown to be one of the most recognized reining trainers in Canada with over $450,000 in NRHA. Besides training, Austin is driven to make the sport bigger and better in every way possible. After being the president of Reining Alberta for close to a decade he most recently founded ‘The Showdown’ which celebrates all three of the Western Performance Horse disciplines.

  • Delaney Michelson hails from Three Hills, Alberta where she's built a career around developing talented reining horses and helping non professional riders reach their goals.
Her dedication to the sport earned her the opportunity to represent team Canada at the 2019 FEI World Reining Championships in Givrins, Switzerland, where she competed against some of the world's top riders on borrowed horses. This year, it has also led her to help bring reining to a much broader audience through the Calgary Stampede Open Reining Showcase where she finished 4th aboard Chics Pistola.
Following her international competition experience, Delaney spent several years further developing her horsemanship under NRHA Professional Austin Seelhof, refining her training program and expanding her knowledge of developing horses at every stage. In 2024 she started Michelson Reining, which she operates out of JK Ranches in Didsbury Alberta.
Today she specializes in producing confident, skilled reining horses while helping riders achieve success both in and out of the show pen. Proud to represent Anchor G Bar Ag, she knows great footing makes all the difference.
  • Shelby Mitchell is a NRHA professional and the trainer behind Northern Performance Horses, a program focused on reining Futurity and Derby prospects as well as seasoned show horses, operating out of West Horizon Ranch in Madden, Alberta. She develops horses from green to the show pen with an emphasis on correctness, longevity, and consistency, building horses and riders that can perform under pressure.

Shelby began her career working under accomplished NRHA trainers, most notably spending five formative years with renowned horseman Craig Schmersal. That experience helped shape her program philosophy and gave her exposure to top-level Futurity and Derby horses and major-event preparation.
Over the course of her own career, Shelby has become a three-time Level 1 Open Futurity finalist and has earned in excess of $25,000 in NRHA competition, with multiple strong finishes at major shows. Her record reflects a talent for bringing young horses along to peak at the right time and for consistently delivering solid performances on big stages.

Alongside her success in the open pen, Shelby is a respected non pro coach, guiding riders to milestones such as qualifying for and showing at the NRHA Futurity, earning finals berths, and achieving personal-best runs. Her students value her blend of high-level technical insight and calm, supportive coaching style that builds confidence at home and at the show.
